This painting is my interpretation of the Salmon of Knowledge from Celtic Mythology. Legend has it that a great salmon lived in a pool surrounded by hazels, the tree believed to be the source of all wisdom. The salmon acquired his great intelligence by feeding on the nuts that fell into the water.
