Honu, the green sea turtle, symbolizes the ancient connection between the earth and the sea. It is believed that the turtles acted as guides for the first Hawaiians.

This painting is my interpretation of the Hero Aiai creating Honu by drawing the turtle petroglyph on the rocks near the shore.
